How rude would it have been to keep Miss Woodhouse waiting? Written by Tarn (4/20/2008 12:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I think the Martin family, penned by JulieW

The Miss Martins seem to know who is at the bottom of all this discourtesy.

Without excusing Emma at all (she has no excuse), is Harriet being spineless or overly polite in her punctuality? It seems to me that she could keep Miss Woodhouse waiting for five minutes, at least.
