IMO, Emma is just looking for a reason Written by Melissa K (4/19/2008 11:51 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Emma began to have suspicions of Jane, penned by Graciela

to think poorly of Jane, and if she doesn't have a reason, she will add liberal doses of imagination to fact to come up with one.

I think Emma feels threatened by Jane, and is attempting to "level the field" in her own mind by pulling Jane off her pedastal.
