Mrs. Elton   Written by Abby (4/19/2008 8:07 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I should add that, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

This really does make me think about Mrs. Elton (Hawkins). I vaguely connected the references about the slave trade in Emma. More on a subconscious level, but the sugar and the slave trade really lit up the subject. Thank you so much. I just finished Emma again (I read ahead *blush*) but I'm going to go back and reread from Miss Hawkins introduction to put two and two together.
