I believe you.   Written by Robbin (4/18/2008 8:39 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I don't have, penned by Ramya
Are you new?

I never questioned why you like Emma and I am not trying to convince anyone not to like her. I agree with you and more. I think JA has done a superior job of making Emma a flawed but likeable character. I like Emma myself despite her faults; I am always ready to say when Emma is wrong but that does not equate to disliking her or trying to persuade others to dislike her. I enjoy trying to decipher every bit of her, good and bad.

I suppose all interpretations are rooted in their author’s understanding but if you feel attacked if I question yours then I don’t know what to say other than it was not personal and in my view nothing out of the ordinary. I have been asked many times to clarify my interpretations and while it can be frustrating to be misunderstood it is not a negative IMO. I will however keep your sentiments in mind when posting.

I hope this clears up all misunderstandings between us. Since this has become a two-person conversation I think it would be best to end it here. Thanks.
