I think that the author, at a minimum, is quite aware of a connection, because she has Mr. Weston address to Frank the following statement, "What is right to be done cannot be done too soon" as a general principle. That would have to be a spur to Frank's conscience, if he has any sense of having been negligent.

And I agree with Beatrice S that we are given plenty of reason to believe that Frank isn't dealing with the Good Fairy at home. Though how relevant that is, or ought to be, to his being able to pay the post-wedding visit is something of a question.
