Mr. Collins indeed! (But I have to admit, I have known a couple of people who have done just about that same quick turnaround too---they made our heads spin to see it! Yet, truth be told, the two I think of at the moment are still married to that person and seem amazingly happy--so it's likely that marriages, happiness, and 'love' came in as many varieties then as now!! To each his own path, I guess!) Mr. Elton actually probably found someone in Augusta who is more like himself than not...and will be the happier for it!
