I'm not sure if this is a relatively minor social situation   Written by Graciela (4/17/2008 6:28 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Interesting connection..., penned by Lori Kate
Are you new?

I originally intended to post about Mr. Weston advising his son that he should not slight Jane Fairfax and then I was struck with some similarity in what Mr. Kightley says about Frank's duty in visiting.

Mr. Weston says that Frank should visit Jane soon, partly because it's polite to do so, but specially in this case because now Jane is living with her poor grandmother, and if Frank delays his visit it would be considered a slight to her.

Mr. Knightley, too, says that if the new Mrs. Weston were a person of consequence it would not have imported so much if Frank came or not.
