Perfectly understandable!   Written by Nicki (4/16/2008 5:58 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Patience for lovelorn Harriet, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

Anyone (except perhaps someone like Jane Bennet) would get fed up with Harriet continually linking things to Mr Elton. Having seen Mr Elton's true worth, it must be grating to hear someone who seems far superior being compared in such a way to him! and despite Emma's own guilt over being the cause of Harriet's unhappiness, it's only human to become tired of the subject eventually.

I think Emma doing nothing but turning away is actually pretty heroic. If it had been me, I would have groaned aloud in frustration long before that point :P
