Are you new?

She may actually be hoping that Frank -- or someone -- will disparage Jane to make herself feel better. After all, Emma really doesn't care for Jane, is sick of hearing about her, and at the same time is well aware that Jane is beautiful and accomplished. When Frank is insulting to Jane it actually gives Emma a change to defend her and to make herself look better.
