Emma has some negative qualities…   Written by Robbin (4/15/2008 2:38 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Sorry, I didn´t want to "quarrel", penned by MarianneR
Are you new?

She is a snob, she is often unfeeling and I think quite stubborn. I was speaking of what I see as some of Emma’s faults and it is bound to sound negative but is that a bad thing? Personally I don’t feel the need to couch every comment about Emma’s faults with a virtue to balance it. Nevertheless, Emma has good qualities but IMHO it is just as interesting and perhaps more so to go over the bad ones.

I used the word quarrel meaning the lesser of two evils, which in my view means—disagreement. I was saying you disagree with me. I did not think you wanted to argue—sorry if I gave that impression. I think you are right it is better to show half-heartedly friendly behavior at times than no friendliness at all but Emma’s manners so far are usually fine if cold to the Bates; it is her poor attitudes and opinions I must quarrel with.
