I see how Miss Taylor would have wanted to soothe her employer rather than manipulate him, to calm his fears. And Isabella is also careful of her father's habits, but when it comes to certain things, appears to be unpersuadable. However, I still see it being done by Emma to an unreasonable degree, IMHO.
