Funny though :-)   Written by Lori Kate (4/14/2008 2:13 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Pork!!, penned by Fannie
Are you new?

I love this progression too.

And if you have even a small streak of actor in you, I have a suggestion: Try speaking (outloud) Miss Bates' dialog to yourself. For one thing, doing this can be a great source of amusement (though unless one can speak pretty quickly, this may not be the best idea.)

For another, JA uses her dialog to relate a lot of relevant detail, and reading it out loud helps (me at least) to catch more of the meaning contained therein. Just keep in mind that relevant information is hopelessly mixed in with things that are entirely irrelevant.

Still, I find it both interesting and humorous trying to follow the twistings of the mind of Miss Bates. There is occasionally more sense contained in her dialog than one might first suppose; but in almost all cases, it is (or can be) thoroughly entertaining reading.
