I've got too much going on in my life to be doing this group read, but stopped in this morning just to see what some of the discussion was. I love the point that's brought up here! I'm currently listening to Emma on tape, and have just gotten through this segment - didn't even notice the subtle perfection of this exchange. I'll have to be on the lookout for more gems like this as the book proceeds.
