|Emma is setting a bad example for Harriet

in consequence of the missive, Does Emma respect Miss Bates?, penned by Robbin
Perhaps it would be all right for Emma to grumble to someone on her own social level about the silliness of Miss Bates, but it seems she is encouraging Harriet also to think the same way. Harriet naturally looks up to Emma both as her social better and as someone who is a little older, better educated and has known Miss Bates for her entire life. It seems that in this instance, as in some others, Harriet is showing herself to be quite kind and good-natured, more so than Emma.
