A close call for Mr. Woodhouse   Written by Lori Kate (4/8/2008 11:02 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, That would explain why Emma has never seen it..., penned by Anne-Marie
Are you new?

Given Mr. Woodhouse's tendency to hypochondria, from his point of view, a close call with the sea might mean that he once felt a cool ocean breeze, and was afraid that he would catch his death from it. When he says of the sea "I'm sure it almost killed me once" I don't think that this can be relied on as objective fact, in regard to negative effects (if any) that the sea may ever have had on him.
