The selfish vicar?   Written by Beatrice S (4/7/2008 2:54 p.m.)
Are you new?

I have to say it's a bit shocking how self-centered, greedy and petty Mr. Elton is considering he's the vicar. Maybe I just think that as a spiritual leader, one would be more giving and understanding and even kinder.

He almost seems capable of being cruel. I'm not saying that just because you chose a life as a vicar means you aren't human and that you don't have feelings, but how can you expect Mr. Elton to lead a flock when he isn't anywhere near being as righteous as he could be?

Take Edward from S&S, while he's not perfect, at least he's honorable if nothing else.
