I agree, Emma seems very controlling to me. I was also struck by Emma’s alarming ideas. Is she more worried about Harriet connecting herself to a farmer and loosing a friend or dreading personal failure after all she has done to make the match? It would be a humiliating failure after what Mr. Knightley has said. (;D)
