I am really cross with Emma for the way she blunders into Harriet's life like this. The Martins seem everything Harriet could want, and Emma ruins her chance of this happiness with her selfish and self-important behaviour.
It also struck me that Emma is so proud of her matchmaking, but Mr Knightley had actually been of much more use in this endeavour, in his support and encouragement of Robert Martin. He is right to be so angry with her.
