He considers Mr. Perry a friend as well. This close to the chapter made me think that Mr. Perry humours Mr. Woodhouse by telling him what he wants to hear. If Mr. Woodhouse wants confirmation of something that will do him no harm to believe, then Perry is quite willing to agree with him.
