Ok, I'll admit it -- this is my third time reading the novel, and I've perused favourite bits of it many others, and I've seen the movies and... I never caught that "heartless" Emma lives at "Hartfield." Good one.

Hmmm... There's a Mr KNIGHTley (ok, I caught that). Harriet SMITH is obvious -- her "real" surname is a mystery, like someone registering a hotel as Jane Jones. Mr Knightley lives at Donwell ABBEY, where he lives a monastic (as in wife-free) existence -- or maybe I'm reading too much into that one?
