in consequence of the missive, Well, thats how it looked from Emma's point of view, penned by Tarn
We really know nothing of Jane Fairfax except for a few dialogues, so I can't see how, >Mrs Churchill is going to keep her men in proper order, and there will be no room for such impropriety and vulgarity when she takes charge. Jane couldn't even handle Frank and stop him from flirting with Emma, or even use her as a screen to shield their engagement (unless she sgreed to it to some extent). Also there's no explanation other than jealousy of Emma to be refusing her offers. The act seems too personal to think it was because of Emma insulting Miss Bates otherwise how did she forget that as soon as she got engaged. |
