As I mentioned in a previous post, the only successful matchmakers are the Knightleys -- George, John and Isabella, who manage to bring Harriet and Robert Martin back together. But Mrs. Weston (incorrectly) sees a match between Mr. Knightley and Jane, and both she and Mr. Weston are hoping that Frank and Emma will get together. Earlier in the book, Miss Bates lets it slip that the Highbury gossips foresaw a match between Emma and Mr. Elton. It seems all these people have matchmaking on their minds.
