that she did not behave rightly by Emma, not only to Emma, but also to Mrs. Weston? She didn't have to push herself into friendship with Emma (clearly they were both not interested in that until then ver end), but she could very well have been a little warmer in her manner towards Emma, as she herself acknowledges. Her secret engagement with Frank is a reason for her behavior, but not an excuse.
