No, I don't pity Mr. Knightley because we see that Emma has good qualities as well as bad. "Faultless inspite of her faults". I think we see enough of both Mr. Knightley and Emma to see why they are a match.

But we never see Frank and Jane interact "honestly". We know he visits the Bates a lot, but all we we see is Frank's show with Emma. That's a very unflattering portrait and I can't fathom why we should think it a good match for Jane, except that it saves her from the governess trade.
