How much of the Prince is in "Emma"?   Written by Bridget D (3/18/2011 6:30 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, The Dedication of "Emma", penned by Jane Marie
Are you new?

None at all I'd say.

Yes JA didn't approve of the Regent's behaviour. neither did the King or many people. However when it was "suggested" by the Regents staff that she make a dedication to him in Emma, she did it becauase it was a royal command.

As for his "bigamy" IIRC he married Maria Fitzherbert first but it was not a legal marriage because she was Roman Catholic and he had not sought the King's permission. He then marreid Caroline of Brunswick and the marriage failed.
