Emma is more mature now and doesn't dislike Jane Fairfax "just because". I think Emma genuinely wants to be friends with Jane now, and Jane seems kindly disposed towards Emma (based on Ch. 52). And I am sure they have more to talk about, more interests in common, than Emma and Harriet ever had..
