Are you new?

At first I read it as Mr Knightley and Emma living together without being married, but that doesn't make much sense - I could see why Mrs Elton would call that a "shocking plan"! But I don't really get it, because once they married they would of course be living together - that is quite normal for a husband and wife.. Does she refer to the fact that Mr Knightley will move in with the Woodhouses instead of bringing his new bride to live with him in his own house, or...?
