Alison Y: You hit a grand-slam on this one for a couple of reasons. You went deeply into this most lovely relationship that I believe Miss Austen had intended us readers to very much contemplate.

Your analysis sensitively reveals what I agree are Mr. Knightley's feelings about Emma and how they transitioned from Emma's adolescence to womanhood. I so whole-heartedly concur with all that you said because I simply could not adequately arrange my own thoughts on this subject: The beauty of love as it goes through the various stages to reach its apex.

And.....please don't deprive us any longer!
