I'd never considered how that visit reflected on John and Isabella's attitudes and what a contrast that was to Emma's. As for later visits to Hartfield, it would certainly be difficult for Emma to hold Mr. Martin in anything but ever-increasing regard when her own husband esteems the man so highly. Brava to you again, and bravo to the Knightleys (George, John AND Isabella) as well.
