... Mr. Churchill has never met either Jane or Harriet. And likely will not meet either for some time. He's simply given in to Frank's urging with little resistance.

Would Frank have represented Harriet as highly as he did Jane? I don't know, of course, but I expect he would have said whatever he thought necessary, unless Mr. Churchill grilled him hard about the lady being advanced as a new mistress of Enscombe.

Would Mr. Churchill have made such demands about the new lady?
