We have not been privy to her thoughts and emotions- it has all been blanketed by a wall of reserve. Frank and Jane romance is actually a typical boy-meets-girl romance, one that many authors would have focussed on. Instead, Austen treats it as incidental to the main story and uses it in a delicious way for the development of her hero and heroine's character and romance.
