Actually I think there would....   Written by Reeba (3/10/2011 5:26 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Roberta is right, penned by Kathleen Glancy
Are you new?

have been great chances of Mr Knightley also joinng the brigade of 'second time proposers' if Emma's flight of generosity had run mad and she had refused Mr Knightley without giving a reason.

Mr Knigghtley would have remained friends, Harriet would have realised he doesn't love her, because Mr knightley would have been too heart broken to mend other broken hearts (Robert Martin's).

Mr Knightley's regular visits might have decreased in frequency, but would have continued.

And one fine morning (or evening, or afternoon..it doesn't matter), he would have proposed again, in his no nosense, inimitable manner -

" Emma I have something to say - I must, I will, -- I will tell you truths [again] while I can, tell me at once, will you be my wife."

Emma of course will accept this second time.
