Roberta is right   Written by Kathleen Glancy (3/10/2011 2:58 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Yes... but at least there was no Darcy/Wentworth-style ultimatum, penned by Tom P2
Are you new?

What Darcy and Wentworth are doing is assuring Elizabeth and Anne that though they are renewing their proposals they are not going to persist if they are refused again. This is not applicable to Mr Knightley, who is making his first declaration and, since Emma did not refuse him and does not seem likely to change her mind about accepting him, is never going to have to do it again.
