An unexpectedly long visit with Jane and her grandmother when Miss Bates is out (ch. 24). "What felicity it is to hear a tune again which has made one happy! If I mistake not that was danced at Weymouth."
His insistence on asking Miss Bates's opinion of the arrangements for the ball (Miss Bates???) (ch. 29) Another unexpectedly long visit with Jane and her grandmother when Miss Bates is out (ch. 30). ...and so on... Mr. Knightley "had seen a look, more than a single look, at Miss Fairfax, which, from the admirer of Miss Woodhouse (Frank), seemed somewhat out of place." (ch. 41) Jane's embarrassment when Frank mentions a secret plan by Mr. Perry to buy a carriage¸and his "apology" with the "blunder" game tiles. (ch. 41) ...and so on... And the delicious part is that you notice all this only after reading the book several times!
