Surprised, as well

in consequence of the missive, Jane & Frank, penned by Frances G
Frank was handsome, fun-loving, with a sparkling and entertaining personality. What's more natural than for these two young and, at the time, carefree people to fall in love? Speaking from personal experience, I think it's quite common for a reserved and more contemplative person to fall in love with a charming, witty, life-of-the-party type. (My husband and I fit this description fairly closely). Also, think Darcy and Elizabeth. Jane knew it was wrong to enter a secret engagement, but it seems like they were head-over-heels in love, and prudence couldn't hope to prevail. That's always been my take on Frank and Jane. |
