Mrs. Elton   Written by BarbaraB (3/7/2011 5:16 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, of what nature?, penned by Stephanie
Are you new?

Actually, I was going to comment on the Eltons, Mrs. Elton in particular next Sunday when I could do it in relation to the ending, but since you brought it up, I will say that I expect Mrs. Elton to alway try Emma's patience into eternity because Mrs. Elton will be Mrs. Elton forever and Emma will likely not always be successful in her dealings with her. I did not mean to imply that everything will be hunky dory from now on... No major change in anyone's life is likely to happen overnight without some stumbles along the way and I did say that Mr. Knightley was an easy person for her first foray into selflessness. Even yet, there may still be some. And come to that, Emma still has resolutions yet to deal with which I am waiting for. Her awful behavior in regards to Mr. Martin is still leaving a bad taste in my mouth and her interference in Harriet's life has brought about another bad end-result which Emma must deal with. I don't know if she's reached the point of dealing with it maturely yet so one can only hope. I just wanted to give her credit where credit is due. :)
