She thinks everything is being done to honor her. Was this a normal attitude for a new bride, in a new town? She doesn't know any of these people! It makes me wonder how Mr E spoke of his neighborhood before they were married. Did he lead her to believe that he was the leader of society there? They must have both been on the rebound and desparate to prove to everyone they could each find someone to marry. She provides entertaining reading, if nothing else. :-)
