Well, I don't know if it was an innocent gesture or not but at the Box Hill picnic, Frank in suddenly coming up with a game to play announces, "Ladies and gentlemen, I am ordered by Miss Woodhouse (who, wherever she is presides)..." He has effectively kicked Mrs. Elton of the throne or has he? Not to be outdone, Mrs. Elton makes sure that her carriage leaves first!
