Come out from behind the potted plant, please.   Written by BarbaraB (2/23/2011 6:00 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Risking the group's displeasure, I'll offer context:, penned by jeffrey
Are you new?

I am so busy laughing out loud, I don't think I would have the wherewithal to lob tomatoes. Besides, I remember so well my first read. The adaptations in no way prepare a person for the Mr. Woodhouse in the book. They are completely misleading in the sacrifice and isolation Mr. Woodhouse imposes on his daughter. I was so aghast, I could hardly hold onto the book at times. :) Of course I have learnt to cut Mr. Woodhouse some slack though I've wanted to post a few Mr. Woodhouse-diatribes this group read but haven't had the time but, who knows, I may get to it yet.

Yeah, Frank's waffling about visiting is annoying and I always suffer the disappointments with the Westons, especially Mrs. Weston.

The Westons wanting to hook up Frank and Emma doesn't bother me, at least not so far, because its mainly a wish, a hope (which obviously is something they can't hide) but they are kind of allowing events to just take care of themselves, not pushing it.

Thanks for the laugh.
