....There was a similar discussion on the meanings of both character names AND place names in Emma that was very enlightening.

Does anyone remember that? (and, if anyone does, how to find it?)

I don't think any of us Pemberleans are reading into this more than what was intended by the authoress. Miss Austen seldom left a stone unturned and her attention to detail in the names of her characters and place names (IMHO) are there for a reason (?)
