I have a great regard for John Knightley   Written by Anne-Marie (2/23/2011 8:12 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Defending Mr. John Knightley (as is my wont), penned by Delories
Are you new?

I was making a joke about his name and his numerous progeny. No one but her father would think of Isabella as "poor." She's obviously a happy wife and doting mother, and I can imagine that life with Isabella isn't always easy, since she has inherited her father's concern for health matters. She's obviously a healthy woman, since having all these children seems not to have done her any harm except to make her "nervous," and who wouldn't be nervous with 5 little ones? I think John and Isabella have a very happy life together, and it's obvious throughout the book that he's a good family man. He's kind enough to caution Emma about encouraging Mr. Elton, and he esteems Mr. Woodhouse.
