Gem of a chapter! Written by Ramya (2/22/2011 2:34 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr Weston and Mrs Elton, penned by Lisa Dalrymple

JA is so good at building exquisite chapters just out of two-person conversations. We had one other instance in the conversation between Mr. Knightley and Mrs. Weston (Ch.5), and there is another excellent one in S&S, in the conversation between Mr. and Mrs. John Dashwood right after his father's death.

Mr. Weston exasperates me sometimes, in his constant need to criticize Mrs. Churchill! I do feel sorry for the man for having given up his son so he could get a better life, but it was still his choice...
