not dislike. She has never had any overtures of friendship from Miss Woodhouse in the past, so I don't see any reason why JF has to respond with friendship. In the same way, she is clearly reserved (I don't see any signs of diffidence, as Mr. Knightley thinks).

Her answer is consistent with that of a person who has spent most of her adolescent and young adult life with other people. She is just not as interested in the concerns of Highbury as the people living there are. In the same way, she doesn't feel like sharing her deeper views of her set with any citizens of Highbury other than the Bateses.
