I guess you could interpret Knightley's refusal to come in after he learned there were other guests as jealousy.

I have always seen his agreement to come up as a demonstration of his considerate nature. He knows how much Miss Bates likes company, so he wants to oblige her. But when he learns that she already has company, he no longer feels the need to for the visit.
