Another similarity between those two story arcs is that, in both cases, Emma has someone acting as a submissive sounding-board. Both Harriet and Frank Churchill appear to have knuckled under to Emma's views, one agreeing to her views of the Martins, and the other agreeing to her views of Jane Fairfax.
