Should he have to come forward if Harriet marry? Written by Graciela (2/13/2011 8:49 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, he doesn't want to come forward then?, penned by Ra

Suppose that Harriet had accepted Mr. Martin's proposal, or that Mr. Elton had proposed to her and she accepted. Harriet is a minor, so she would have need her father's (or her guardian's) permission to marry. Of course, it's possible that the person who has her guardianship and pays for her education is not her father (like Col. Brandon).
