Emma's contrast to Miss Campbell   Written by Nikki N (2/13/2011 7:29 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, It cannot be envy of Emma ..., penned by Rabab
Are you new?

Miss Campbell does not appear in person and is only described by the ON -- it just strikes me that the ON in this description of Miss Campbell might mean to deliberately contrast her to Emma -- Miss C could see JF's superiority in beauty and accomplishments, JF was educated at the expense of Miss C's parents, and yet Miss C was very warmly attached to JF without any feeling of envious resentment.

But I would not say that JF is superior to Miss Campbell in "every way" -- Miss C's warm-heartedness shows that she is a girl of superior feeling and character -- in this, she is at least equal to JF.
