Emma nad Miss Bates   Written by Bridget D (2/12/2011 3:41 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Emma's visits were not out of duty...., penned by Reeba
Are you new?

yes she visited the poor out of compassion and kindness and becuase it was her duty. She visited Miss Bates too, but not as often as she should. But since Miss B is close in rank to her, visting her is not as "easy" as going ot the homes of hte poor and being able to be "lady Bountiful" with them. She has to treate Miss Bates differently, as a social equal. but givent taht Miss B IS a terrilbe bore and not very bright, it IS tedious for a girl liek Emma to be with her for long, and while I know she SHOULD pay more duty visits, I dont entirely blame her for not wanting to do them....
