Consideration for Mr. Woodhouse   Written by Patricia AA (2/7/2011 10:07 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Sympathy and Empathy, penned by BarbaraB
Are you new?

Emma must have felt great concern over Harriet's illness. Given Mr. Woodhouse's fears on the subject of sickness, having a very ill Harriet at Hartfield might have upset the comfort of her father. Yet, Emma risked her father's peace of mind out of concern for the welfare of Harriet.

This is indeed another instance that Emma is basically a very kind-hearted, and caring individual. She may be misguided at times, but I do believe that she feels she is being a true friend to Harriet.
