Woodhouse   Written by Bridget D (2/4/2011 4:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, What is the purpose of Mr Woodhouse? I do not have, penned by AnnetteJ
Are you new?

Yes I think that perhaps you are. while Mr Woodhouse is fussy not very bright etc, he's Emma's father and her love for him, her devotion ot him even when he is difficult, is a sign of her goodness. He has not much intelligence but he has instinctive good feeling. While he's inclined ot over praise those he loves, generally speaking he knows what is right and tries to do it, in his way. He sends food to the Bates, shows kindness and courtesy to them and to Jane Fairfax etc.
